July 2006 - RSHG Display Case installed in Ryde Cemetery

On 19 July 2006 a brand new display case was installed in Ryde Cemetery. The Case, which is in the same style as those already installed in Ryde Town, was purchased by Ryde Social Heritage Group with part of the grant received from the Local Heritage Initiative.

We intend to commission an artist to produce a map of the cemetery showing the layout, some of the flora and fauna, the buildings and some of the many interesting graves to be found in the cemetery. In the meantime the board is displaying information about RSHG and the Cemetery.

We would like to thank the Isle of Wight Council's Bereavement Services Section for permission to install the board, Mark Stallard Transport of Wootton Bridge for transporting it to the Island at no cost to us and Clancy Docwra for carrying out the installation free of charge.
