Ryde Cemetery Committee

The records of the early development of the cemetery are kept by the IW County Records Office, Newport, Isle of Wight, and have been transcribed in part, to provide information about the process by which the cemetery was enlarged, and to describe some of the decisions that were made.

In addition, the records also provide insight into the social history of Ryde, and the people involved in the development of the town in Victorian times.

The records consist of:

Minutes of the Cemetery Committee - 6 volumes in total

Excerpts Vol. 1 - October 28 1858 to November 29 1880

Vol. 2 - January 1881 to April 1892

Vol. 3 - April 1892 to January 21 1902

Vol. 4-6 - Still to be researched
